Placing, moving and removing stickers
Stickers are the live readouts: a big number over a small unit label, tracking the video as it plays. Everything about placing them is done with your fingers on the preview, and there are only four gestures to know.
Adding one
Section titled “Adding one”Tap the bike-wheel button to open the sticker drawer. The stickers tab is a grid of every sticker, each previewing with sample data so you can see what you’re getting. Tap one and it lands in the centre of the video with your ride’s real data already bound to it. The drawer stays open, so you can add a few in a row. Swipe it down, or tap the video above it, to close.
Metric and imperial are separate stickers (there’s a kph speed and an mph
speed, m altitude and ft altitude, and so on). Pick the one you want to
see; mixing them on the same video is fine.
Stickers in the drawer wearing a rainbow jersey are premium. You can place them and style them for free. Exporting a video that still has one on it is where the purchase comes in, and the app will tell you at that point rather than before.
Moving
Section titled “Moving”Drag it. Put a finger on the sticker and move it. It follows your finger anywhere on the video. There’s no snapping and no grid, so if you want it tucked in a corner or dead centre over the road, put it there.
Resizing
Section titled “Resizing”Pinch it. Two fingers on the sticker, spread to make it bigger, pinch to make it smaller. The range is wide (a fifth of the default size up to six times it), so a sticker can be a quiet caption or the whole point of the frame. The number and the unit label scale together.
Resizing and moving can happen in the same gesture. Two fingers that spread and travel will do both.
Removing
Section titled “Removing”Double-tap it. The sticker disappears. There’s no confirmation, because adding it back is one tap in the drawer. If you double-tapped the wrong one, that’s the fix.
Styling
Section titled “Styling”Tap it once to open the style panel for that sticker: fonts, colours, and an eyedropper for pulling a colour out of the footage. That has its own page: fonts and colours.
Other gestures
Section titled “Other gestures”Two things aren’t sticker gestures and it’s worth knowing that up front.
Swiping up on the video opens the trim view and the elevation strip, which is how you cut the clip down and line the data up with the footage. See trimming the clip and my data doesn’t line up with the video.
The create button stays greyed out until at least one sticker is on the video. An overlay with nothing on it isn’t a video we can make.
If you forget any of this in the editor, the small i button shows the same tips as a dialog.
